About
Open-source synthesiser and plugin for making oscilloscope music by drawing 3D objects, images and text with audio.
osci-render works the other way round from most visualisers: instead of drawing pictures of sound, it generates sound that draws pictures. It converts 3D .obj files, SVG images, text, images and Blender scenes into stereo audio that renders the shapes when viewed on an oscilloscope in XY mode.
It runs as a standalone application or as a VST3 or Audio Unit plugin on Windows, macOS and Linux, so parameters can be automated and played with MIDI in a DAW. A Lua scripting interface allows custom visuals and effects, and a built-in software oscilloscope displays the result.
The source code is GPL 3.0. A free version is available, and a premium version adds features such as recording the visualiser, live video input and additional effects.
